Co-founded by 42 Alumni Mehdi Bessaa (cohort 2014) and his associates Daniel Huynh and Raphaël Millet, Mithril Security is one of the projects that emerged during the first batch of the 42 Incubator at STATION F in Paris.

The French start-up has developed an open-source tool for end-to-end content protection. Today, it is accelerating its ascent with the support of OpenAI by joining its Cybersecurity Grant Program, a $1M initiative to boost and quantify AI-powered cybersecurity capabilities. After winning over the general public with its ChatGPT conversational agent, the American company now wants to sell its premium version to businesses, which requires guaranteeing the confidentiality of data sent to the tool.

Our software secures and hermetically isolates data in an 'enclave', using a cryptographic key designed specifically for AI. Our software guarantees users that administrators of AI models do not have access to their data.

Interviewed by French-TV Good Morning Business, COO Raphaël Millet discusses the team's OpenAI cybersecurity grant and mission to secure data confidentiality on ChatGPT. "Our software secures and hermetically isolates data in an 'enclave', using a cryptographic key designed specifically for AI. This guarantees users that administrators of AI models do not have access to their data," he explains. The solution also aims to guarantee data security in the event of a cyber attack.
